What is Medicare?

Medicare is a federal medical health insurance program for people who are age 65 and older, certain disabilities for those who are under age 65, and with permanent kidney failure that requires dialysis and/or a transplant.

To be eligibile for Medicare, you would have to have worked at least 10 years for which you have paid into Medicare taxes.

If you are not sure if you are eligibile, you may call your local Social Security for your status and what age you would qualify.
