I have a client who has Medicare Supplemental with a prescription drug plan. My client had the same plan for two years. This year, she was getting confused with the monthly premium and the deductible. Those are two different payments. My client could not understand why she pays every month and still have to pay the full price for the medicine that is needed. I had explained it to her many times over the phone and by email; and yet, she still did not understand. I felt like a broken record and didn’t know how else to explain it to my client so that she can understand.
If you have elderly parents, please sit down with them each year and show them what is their monthly Medicare Supplement with the drug plan costs. And, show what is the deductible on the drug plan (if any) and any medication that was taken, so that your parents can understand what has been paid and have not for easy understanding.
Not understanding something, sometimes might be a sign of memory lost. Check with your parents and their doctor to see how they can assist in their well being.
I was talking with my client every week for two months.
